Over the years Waverly Hills Sanatorium was host to thousands of patients. Most didn’t survive the “White Plague” that was Tuberculosis. Life in the sanatorium was not completely full of despair and sorrow. Many patients made friendships and morale was always as high as possible given the circumstances. Some patients were given horseback rides while others enjoyed movies that were shown regularly. The children would go out onto the front lawn at Christmas and be able to see Santa Claus drive his reindeer and sled around the building.
A few patients are shown on here but this is just a tiny sample of the entire population of patients at Waverly Hills.
